Why exercise? I’m going to assume that you know all the physical reasons why and focus on the emotional ones – EXERCISE IS A MOOD CHANGER – it can help you feel stronger, calmer, happier. It can relieve stress. Exercise releases endorphins and dopamine which affect mood and are the bodies natural pain killers. Some scientists have claimed that frequent exercise can improve your immune system function, lower blood pressure, and reduce anxiety and depression and raise self esteem. Regular exercise of moderate intensity produces more endorphins then a one off session, so regular sessions are important.

Building strength is important to us all, particularly as we get older. By adding strength training/Boot camp to your routine doesn’t only slow the rate of muscle loss with aging but it also builds muscle, burns fat, and improves your overall health. In addition more and more studies are being published that demonstrate that working out with a group, having someone to motivate you and ask you regularly how much exercise you are doing as well as a variety of exercises, all add up to improved workouts not only in intensity but also frequency. A study published in Health Psychology (King et al 2007) demonstrated that over a period of 6 months, exercisers who were contacted once a week undertook 78% more exercise than exercisers who went it alone……
